The Art of Living - Overview
Art of Living in Manila
Since April 2005, Art of Living Philippines has been regularly conducting courses in Manila. These programs include the Part 1 course, Advanced course, DSN, Sahaj Samadhi Meditation course, YES (Youth Empowerment Seminar), Art Excel (All round Training in Excellence), Health & Happiness and the Sri Sri Yoga workshop. We have six Part 1 course teachers and we have also been fortunate to have several international Art of Living teachers visit the Philippines to facilitate the highly-regarded workshops. Apart from courses, our regular activities include several weekly long kriyas (group sessions) located in Metro Manila and Alabang, monthly satsangs (singing and celebrating) and regular seva (service) projects like the Breath Water Sound workshop – a free course for the underprivileged sections of society, and Prison SMART Program.
As of May 2010, the Philippine chapter has over 1700 graduates of the Part 1 course and over 4000 more have been through its other programs. This group includes businessmen, diplomats, professionals, doctors, lawyers, teachers, students and homemakers. People from all backgrounds, all religions, all ages and all walks of life have benefited from The Art of Living courses. We have a fast growing volunteer base that meets regularly to plan and conduct activities that share the vision of uplifting lives of people from all sections of Philippine society. Through the programs of Art of Living, our volunteers have seen notable transformation in their own lives and have therefore dedicated their time and commitment to helping others deal with their stress and negative emotions effectively.
As the Philippine chapter grows, we have witnessed how graduates of the course after having practiced the Sudharshan Kriya regularly, have become strengthened and empowered – making them better equipped to positively affect society. “I found the course to be an invigorating experience. It gave me insights into the techniques of breathing. I experienced a feeling of tranquility and serenity during and after every session. I am now 73 years old and conclude that it is never too late to take this course.” – Hiro Assandas Daryanani, Businessman
