‘The most beautiful and wonderful silence is deep within your hearts and minds’
Australia (Sydney), April 3 (Friday): Satsang, meditation and knowledge was the flavor of a cruise along Sydney’s coastline on April 3. From spirituality to science, the interaction between Gurudev and the audience spanned many topics. Gurudev often says: “When you follow fun, misery follows you. When you follow knowledge, fun follows you.”
On Friday evening, the laughter on the boat along the Sydney Harbour certainly proved this.
Gurudev: “We are living in the dimension of prana or life force. Our bodies are like shells floating in an ocean of life. This whole universe is particles and waves – one big function.
Many thousands of years ago, rishis have said that the whole universe is one person, not too many. It appears to be too many.
Like our body, appears to be of millions of cells. Yet we are one person. We are one person – man or woman. But inside you is a big township. There is a nursing home and a burial ground. In your intestine – there are 50,000 types of bacteria – just types – the number goes into millions. They have their own homes.
In the same way, nothing is significant when you see the macrosm. This earth is invisible. Even the sun is like a small dot. It’s like a semi-seed, a mustard seed.
Where is this galaxy floating?
The latest scientific evidence says the galaxy is floating in dark energy and dark matter.
Dark, not because of religious connotations, but because you don’t see them.
The Rig Veda (an ancient Indian text) speaks of this many thousands of years ago.
In the beginning, the dark substance was enveloped by dark energy. From that the Milky Way came out. This substance by which everything is made up of – is what you are made up off too.
It’s like so many bulbs - and they are all linked because of one electricity.
This one thing that is underneath the whole creation is called Shiva. In meditation, drop all the dualities and relax and repose in that Shiva principle.
That silent and potent principle is called Shiva. You know where the word Shiva came from?
When you want people to be quiet, you say – shhhhh. When something is wonderful, you say ‘wow’. That’s Shiva.
So the wonder of silence is Shiva (Audience claps).
The most beautiful and wonderful silence is deep within your hearts and minds.”
