First Art of Living
course in Sudan

“We breathed our insecurities out of our systems and eased our minds through the techniques taught in the course.”

Sudan had a brush with spirituality when the very first Art of Living Part I workshop took place in Khartoum, the capital city. Hiteshini Juggesar, a travelling Art of Living teacher, who has taken the workshop to various places in Africa, facilitated this course in June 2011. Practical wisdom, breathing and meditation techniques was conveyed in the simplest form to the participants, who were revelling in the gratitude for having got this knowledge in their life.

“I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a phrase that sounded enchanting - ‘Art Of Living.’ In every session we got together right before prayer time and listened to some profound wisdom from our lovely Hitu (Hiteshini). We breathed our insecurities out of our systems and eased our minds through the techniques taught in the course,” shared an ecstatic participant.

Benefited by the course

Sudarshan Kriya, a breathing technique taught in the course, has numerous benefits. From releasing daily stress and healing ailments to leading the mind into deep meditation: this unique technique has benefitted millions around the world. An enthusiastic participant exclaimed “With Sudarshan Kriya I felt serene, liberated, relaxed and uninhibited!” While another claimed that the severe headache he had been suffering from the past few years was miraculously no more.

‘Spread the course to more people’

The immense benefits and gratitude that the group experienced motivated them to spread the knowledge. One amongst them wants to become a teacher too. “I have already started of thinking how can I teach this to people and spread it especially for those who know little English or none. I can teach them in Arabic.”

Taking her goal further, Hiteshini continues to travel and take these workshops in Sudan. Next in line is a special program for the staff of UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) in Khartoum.
